Eliss Infinity Review
Eliss Infinity is a fast-paced puzzler developed by Steph Thirion of Little Eyes and presented by Finji Games, a game studio from Adam Saltsman that was re-launched last March 2014. This Android game was part of the previous Humble Bundle.
In Eliss Infinity, you are tasked to use your fingers to control each of the planets, keeping them away from each other until you pull them into a black hole so that they are cleared from the playing field. You can combine planets together until they become a huge one, you can split them into smaller sized planets, or you can move it around wherever they want. Just remember, do not allow different colors to touch as it will zap the planet’s health and the planets need to be the right size to make them disappear.
Utilize the multi-touch interface by pinching and stretching with your fingers so that you can split and connect the planets. Simply swipe to drag them into your preferred location. Watch out though for vortices as it draws the circles.
As the title implies, the new game mode called Infinity is the main attraction for Eliss Infinity. Players are challenged to survive as long as possible against an endless wave of orbs. Also, the original game mode, Odyssey, is included where you can play all of the 25 levels. Luckily, there’s an interactive tutorial which can help you understand the game more.
With all the frantic gameplay elements, you may get frustrated and overwhelmed as you perform various actions with your fingers, badly trying to hold back some planets while also dividing and dragging other circles into the deep hole. All the same, even though some of the levels are difficult, just find the right approach and you will probably solve it soon enough. Eliss Infinity is a good puzzle / action game that is quite addicting. You will most likely play until you’ve finished the entire game.
Personally, I like minimalist visuals but the game’s interface may be too abstract to understand. I know that the game has abstract origins but the abstraction is too close to cross the line. Sometimes you will have to figure out for yourself what this or that means because of absence of visual hints.
Even so, if you are looking for an action-packed puzzler, Eliss Infinity is a good one to have in your library. This Android game provides a varied gameplay experience with plenty of content, and the endless game mode adds replay value. Puzzle fans who want a rewarding and cleverly challenging puzzle game with soothing soundtrack and minimalist graphics, can’t go wrong with Eliss Infinity.
Summary: Eliss Infinity is an entertaining and challenging puzzler which uses the multi-touch interface to perfection. This Android game is well worth the $2.99 price tag with its endless game mode and a fresh new look.
